They’re getting married in the morning…

So, the bags are on the couch & batteries are charging. The feet are up right now as it is going to be a long day but you would never believe how fast the time goes!

… ding dong the bells are going to chime!!!

Well, technically thats not right… “They’re getting Married in the afternoon! No Ding Dong as their at a hotel!!!” ha ha ha ha ha ha I’M SO EXCITED!!! I LOVE WEDDINGS!!!

So, the bags are on the couch & batteries are charging. The feet are up right now as it is going to be a long day but you would never believe how fast the time goes! I am so lucky, I get to be the Wedding VIP – I get to stand at the front, see the faces, the kisses, the reactions of the guests and I get to caupture it all!

Time to do the checklist – 2 camera bodies, all 4 lenses, flashes, flash stand, bride and groom signs, water bottle (a must seen as though I have realized I hold my breath while I photograph, not a great idea!) Loads of other little bits like extra SD cards, pens, tissues (I LOVE A GOOD WEDDING! Everyone cries at weddings) and then I’m good to go to bed…. Set the alarm and then in the morning I will get ready, hand over control of the monsters to my Hubby and I’m off… That’s it for now! Beauty sleep calls… Will Sneak peek you guys as soon as I can xxx ❤ xxx

Tis the Season… TO GET MARRIED!

I calmed his nerves, hand him a bottle of water & told him, “She’s here, look!” That look – I get to stand right at the front, camera in hand & capture that look! TOTAL LOVE & TOTAL HAPPINESS! That is why I do what I do. I capture that moment when while your heart is skipping a beat & you are making your vows though tears, smiles & stuttered words – I get to experience it all with you.

So… With my first wedding of my season on the horizon, I feel excitement rise as basically I get to be a Wedding VIP!!! Let’s examine this in more details as I LOVE MY JOB & I would like to give you a little insight as to why I am more than happy to wake up at 6am, start work at 7am & finally crawl home, exhausted & emotionally drained at about 11pm…

I have missed this. I really have as I took a break from weddings, well, photography in general, to spend the last year getting my youngest ready for starting school (I did the same with my oldest) I always thought as my main goal of my photography was a way I could work & be the best Mummy I could be to my 2 Angels. With the help, love & support of an amazing Hubby, my camera & I venture back out into the great unknown… & out of everything I do, see, photograph, people watching makes me happy – So, being a photographer suits me down to the ground!

At a Wedding, I GET TO SEE EVERYTHING!!! The highs & the lows, but I would like to think that if a low occurs I can help in some way… I see myself as a documentor of the day but also another pair of hands or a calming voice to let people know that everything is going to be okay. I’ve held sick buckets, moved rogue cars, taxi’d bridesmaids & laced dresses. Phoned suppliers for flowers, assisted with the running of the event with an amazing hotel (well, the better we work together, then no one is smiling too long & missing the amazing canapes!) There is nothing that I will let get in the way of a Beautiful couple getting to happily say there I Do’s.

I’ve calmed down a groom who was grey with worry… “Is she here? Please tell me she’s here!” Well, as I came with the Bride, I calmed his nerves, hand him a bottle of water & told him, “She’s here, look!” That look – I get to stand right at the front, camera in hand & capture that look! TOTAL LOVE & TOTAL HAPPINESS! That is why I do what I do. I capture that moment when while your heart is skipping a beat & you are making your vows though tears, smiles & stuttered words – I get to experience it all with you.

I HAVE CRIED! Oh my word have I cried at weddings. I meet with the bride & groom before to get to know them & by the time we hit the big day, I would hope that I know them well enough to have a grasp of who they are & how I can capture that. I chat, tell stories & listen, really listen to what makes them the couple they are! I feel you can’t put love into your job if you don’t “know” your subjects.

Your Wedding is a day where anything can happen & usually does but in the end you have got to also think that if your running a little late or that flower arrangement isn’t quite right, it will still be one of the best days of your life! I am a photographer who wants to photograph your amazing day but I want to capture for you, everyone, including you, enjoying the day! Yes, we have to do the “poses” because we have to make sure we get “those” pictures done that will be requested to be emailed round all the relatives but we can also have some fun with it! Rival footy teams, dabbing grooms men, “the Jump!”, let me know your ideas as I am always up for a laugh and if I can get the shot – I WILL!!!

I suppose what I am trying to say is that I am lucky enough to experience, over & over again, the best of people. You see family you haven’t seen in so long. The young & the old, 3, 4, even 5 generations in one room, all together, celebrating the joining of 2 hearts to make one huge family & friends extravaganza of happy! THAT IS WHY I DO WHAT I DO, AND I BLOODY LOVE IT!
